Note: Liberated Christians is a primarily about heterosexual relationships. While we are supportive of all sexual orientations, the leaders do not have the resources to assist them in their special issues. Thus, our Fellowship groups are not appropriate for gays/lesbians. However, individually Dave (an extreme heterosexual - Kinsey Scale= 0) has done extensive biblical research and has been active supporting biblical homosexuality for many years. However, there is no "official" stand as an organization on homosexuality other than general support.

King David's Love For Jonathan
Samuel 1:25-26 clearly states male-male love is greater than that of a women.

"I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me; THY LOVE TO ME WAS WONDERFUL, PASSING THE LOVE OF WOMEN." - King James

or, Revised English " Jonathan lies slain on your heights. I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you are most dear to me; YOUR LOVE FOR ME WAS WONDERFUL, PASSING THE LOVE OF WOMEN." Is the same in all modern English versions.

The speaker is King David. David was Jonathan s brother-in-law While some may not like the FACT that this is what the scripture says it does clearly state that the love between two men can be greater than between a man and a women. Many Christians are homophobic. They should try really loving homosexuals and they might find the fact homosexuals can deeply love each other not so difficult to grasp and accept.

Perhaps this greater love between men and women had something to do with the fact opposite sex marriages were not based on mutual love or attraction, but only the man's making a financial deal with the girls father. The women was the property first of her father and then of her husband. Love had nothing to do with it, she was his property.

In same sex marriages (now discovered as historical fact of middle age and pre-modern Christians), the rituals were based on mutual love not property rights. Remember also that adultery was only wrong for a married women, never a married man with a single women, since adultery was the property right violation of a man over his wife. But since no equal right existed for a married women, her husband could never commit adultery and could have as many wives, concubines, prostitutes and breeders as he wanted.
